GIs during the war saw CHINA BEACH (MY KHE BEACH), beginning 2km east of Danang, as paradise –or at least fodder for a bad TV show. It’s the same stretch of sand that leads south to Hoi An’s Cua Dai beach, so it’s not necessarily worth a trip up from Hoi An for the beach alone. But it’s nice. There are several hotels on the beach, as well as new seaside restaurants.

To get here from the center, follow Le Duan St east over the Han Bridge, then Pham Van Dong St (straight) goes 2km to the restaurants.
