Author Leif Pettersen, whom I worked with on Lonely Planet’s guide Romania & Moldova, plugged independently create online guidebooks. Leif believes in online guides: ‘The online stage is set for authors to leverage their expertise and provide autonomous, interactive, up-to-the-minute travel information for anyone with an internet connection.’ Link

Yay!
Budget Travel Magazine
Feb 2008
I got a mention in the February issue of Budget Travel, and appeared on Feb 19, 2008, for an hour-long online chat as ‘Vietnam expert.’ Read the transcript of the real-time, by-seat-of-my-pants session. A lot of fun.

Bok Handel
April 2008
That’s right, Bok Handel! This Swedish trade publication ran an interview with me by a New York-based Swedish journalist… in Swedish. See the full piece here — and let me know if you know what it says.
